A 21-year-old woman has admitted to stabbing a man in the quiet village of Bishop’s Cleeve near Cheltenham last month. Jaimee Saunders appeared at Gloucester Crown Court on August 28 via video link from prison custody, where she pleaded guilty to one count of wounding with intent.
The court was informed that on July 25, Saunders unlawfully and maliciously wounded a man, intending to cause grievous bodily harm. Saunders, who resides in Minetts Avenue, Bishop’s Cleeve, confirmed her identity and entered her guilty plea without further comment.
Judge Rupert Lowe has adjourned the case, with sentencing scheduled for September 25. Saunders has a previous record comprising 12 convictions related to driving and shoplifting offences. A referral order had been made in 2022 during her time as a juvenile offender.

The judge refused a bail application, ordering Saunders to remain in custody at HMP Eastwood Park until her sentencing hearing.
The stabbing occurred shortly after 10pm on July 25, when police responded to reports of an assault at Finlay Way in Bishop’s Cleeve. The incident took place near the roundabout connecting Finlay Way and Hayfield Way. Saunders was arrested at approximately 5.20am the following morning.
Local residents expressed shock at the incident and the presence of armed police in their neighbourhood.
Additionally, a woman in her 50s was arrested on suspicion of perverting the course of justice in connection with the case. She remains on police bail pending further investigation.
