Young Motorcyclist Dies in Cotswolds Crash; Driver Arrested

A tragic collision in the Cotswolds claimed the life of a young motorcyclist yesterday evening, leading to the arrest of a driver on suspicion of causing death by careless driving.

Emergency services responded shortly after 7:30 pm on Wednesday, April 29, to reports of a crash involving a van and a motorcycle at the Trafalgar Crossroads near the B4077 in Temple Guiting, located between Stow-on-the-Wold and Winchcombe.

Despite the prompt arrival of medical crews, the rider of a grey Honda CB650R, a man in his twenties, was pronounced dead at the scene. Gloucestershire Police have confirmed that his family has been informed and are receiving support from specially trained officers.

The driver of the white Volkswagen transporter panel van involved in the collision, also in his twenties and from Worcestershire, was arrested and remains in police custody. He is currently being questioned by police.

Several roads near the crash site were temporarily closed to allow investigators to examine the scene, but have since reopened.
