A tragic collision in the Cotswolds has claimed the life of a young motorcyclist and led to the arrest of a van driver. Emergency services responded just after 7:30 pm on Wednesday, April 29, to reports of an accident involving a grey Honda CB650R motorcycle and a white Volkswagen Transporter panel van.
The crash occurred near the Trafalgar Crossroads at the B4077 in Temple Guiting, situated between Stow-on-the-Wold and Winchcombe. Despite the urgent response, the rider, a man in his 20s, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Gloucestershire Police confirmed that the motorcyclist’s family has been informed and is receiving support from specially trained officers. The driver of the van, also in his 20s and from Worcestershire, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving. He remains in police custody and is currently being questioned.

Following the incident, several roads were temporarily closed to facilitate a thorough investigation, but have since reopened. Police are now appealing to any witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage of the crash or either vehicle’s movements in the area to come forward. Information can be submitted through the police’s online form, referencing incident 489 of April 29.
