Wychwood Festival Unveils Star-Studded Lineup for 20th Anniversary Celebration

Wychwood Festival is gearing up to mark its 20th anniversary this summer with an electrifying lineup set to delight music fans of all ages. Taking place from May 29 to 31 at the scenic Cheltenham Racecourse, the family-friendly festival has earned a reputation as a charming “bijou Glastonbury” and a staple in the UK’s festival calendar since 2005.

For this landmark year, Wychwood is expanding from its traditional three-day format to embrace an extra day of festivities. For the very first time, gates will open on Thursday, May 28, giving attendees the chance to enjoy four days of live music, comedy, and camping. The Thursday night kickoff will feature the vibrant Dutty Moonshine Big Band, setting the tone for an extended celebration.

Headliners for the weekend have already been revealed, with the indie rock energy of Kaiser Chiefs lighting up Saturday night, and the iconic folk-rock band Levellers closing out the festival on Sunday with their signature high-energy performance. Both acts hold a special place in Wychwood’s history and blend nostalgia with fresh excitement for 2026.

Joining them is a diverse roster of artists spanning genres and generations. Notable names include the captivating Sophie Ellis-Bextor, rock staples Feeder, disco legends Boney M, acoustic soul of Newton Faulkner, and the unforgettable Chesney Hawkes, alongside an extensive lineup of others still to be announced.

Comedy will once again be a highlight, featuring some of the UK’s best stand-up talent. Among them is Henning Wehn, a familiar face from popular shows like Have I Got News For You and QI, promising laughs for all.

Festival director Graeme Merifield expressed enthusiasm about the anniversary and new additions: “Reaching 20 years is a milestone that reflects our commitment to community and music lovers. Extending the festival to four days allows us to offer more memorable moments and bring in bigger names to match our ambition. This year’s lineup honors our roots with friends who have been part of our story while looking forward to an exciting future.”

Kaiser Chiefs frontman Ricky Wilson shared his excitement: “Playing Wychwood for the first time is a real honor. The festival’s reputation precedes it, and we can’t wait to bring our summer energy to the stage. Whether you’ve seen us before or not, this will be a show to remember.”

Levellers added: “Wychwood has always been a special place for us, full of great old-school festival vibes and unforgettable crowds. Starting our 2026 festival season here feels just right.”

The 20th Wychwood Festival promises a celebration of music, community, and tradition under the beautiful Prestbury Hills. Tickets, including new Thursday entries priced at £30, go on presale Monday, 9th February at 6 pm, with general sales starting Tuesday, 10th February at 10 am.
