Wychwood Festival Unveils First Headliner for 2027: The Human League

Cheltenham’s renowned Wychwood Festival may have just concluded an unforgettable 20th anniversary celebration, but excitement is already building for the 2027 edition. Organisers have revealed the festival’s first headline act for next summer: the legendary 1980s synth-pop band, The Human League.

This year, from May 28-31, Wychwood marked a new chapter by extending to four days and kicking off on a Thursday for the first time. The festival featured powerhouse headliners Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Kaiser Chiefs, and the Levellers, alongside standout performances from Feeder, The Twang, Newton Faulkner, Maximo Park, and Pigeon Detectives, among others.

Now, looking ahead to 2027, fans can get ready to dance the night away with The Human League, famed for timeless hits like “Don’t You Want Me.” The band will headline Saturday night at the festival, slated for June 4-6 at Cheltenham Racecourse.

In a creative reveal during this year’s festival, a plane towing a banner reading “Don’t You Want Me Baby! See you in 2027?” soared over the grounds, thrilling the crowd with the exciting news. The announcement swiftly captured the enthusiasm of attendees online, who expressed their anticipation and delight.

Graeme Merifield, founder of Wychwood Festival, reflected on the festival’s journey: “Celebrating the 20th edition feels surreal. When we started in 2005, we never imagined how much the festival would grow. It’s inspiring to see loyal festival-goers and families who’ve been with us from the start, and it’s this community that assures me we’ll be here for many more years.”

He added, “We couldn’t be more thrilled to welcome The Human League as our first major headliner for 2027. After such a memorable weekend in 2026, we’re already looking forward to creating more amazing memories at Cheltenham Racecourse next summer.”

Tickets for Wychwood Festival 2027 are now on sale, starting at £134.50 for a weekend pass (without camping). Fans eager to join the musical celebration can secure their spots via the festival’s official website.
