Wychwood Festival Celebrates 20th Anniversary with Craig David as Headline Star

Wychwood Festival in Cheltenham is gearing up for its landmark 20th anniversary this summer, unveiling a spectacular final headline act that promises to electrify the crowd. Since 2005, this beloved family-friendly festival has been held at Cheltenham Racecourse, and this year’s celebrations are set to be its biggest yet.

The festival recently announced Kaiser Chiefs and the iconic 90s folk rock band Levellers as headliners for Saturday and Sunday evenings. Now, fans of R&B and 90s garage are in for a special treat with Craig David stepping onto the Wychwood stage on Friday, May 29.

Craig David presents TS5, a dynamic and nostalgic DJ, MC, and live vocal performance that perfectly captures the energy of his classic garage and R&B hits. Attendees can expect to hear crowd favorites like “7 Days” alongside a thrilling mix of old-school anthems and contemporary tunes.

Adding to the excitement, two acclaimed indie rock bands have been confirmed for Sunday, May 31 — Manchester’s Everything Everything and Newcastle’s Maxïmo Park. Fresh from major milestone celebrations, these bands bring anthems designed for full-voice singalongs, completing the festival’s diverse and vibrant lineup.

Joining Craig David, Kaiser Chiefs, Levellers, Everything Everything, and Maxïmo Park are other fantastic performers including Feeder, Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Boney M, The Pigeon Detectives, The Twang, Newton Faulkner, and Chesney Hawkes.

In a historic first, Wychwood will open its gates on Thursday for an additional night of music, headlined by the Dutty Moonshine Big Band. The band expressed their excitement, calling Wychwood “one of the amazing festivals on the circuit” and praising the honor of leading the festival’s inaugural Thursday show.

Recently awarded Family Festival of the Year at the UK Festival Awards 2025, Wychwood continues to shine as a welcoming and inclusive event for music lovers of all ages. Situated under the scenic Prestbury Hills, the festival marks the official start of the British summer festival season and has become a cherished tradition for families and fans alike.

Festival Director Graeme Merifield shared his enthusiasm: “To celebrate 20 years, we really went all out with our headliners. Craig David adds a fresh, high-energy vibe with his garage and R&B hits, creating the perfect complement to Kaiser Chiefs and Levellers. Everything Everything and Maxïmo Park bring even more indie anthems, making this our strongest lineup ever. Tickets are selling fast, especially with the new Thursday night, and we’re on track for a record-breaking year at the racecourse.”

The 20th Wychwood Festival runs from May 29 to 31, 2026, at Cheltenham Racecourse in Gloucestershire. Weekend camping tickets are 90% sold out, with remaining passes available starting at £144.50.
