Wrexham forward Mo Faal is back in contention for Cheltenham Town’s upcoming League Two fixture at Chesterfield this Friday (3pm). The 23-year-old loanee has resumed full training after recovering from an injury sustained during his loan spell at League One’s Port Vale.
Faal joined Cheltenham on the final day of the January transfer window, with all parties aware he was still on the mend. Since signing for Wrexham for £500,000 in August 2024, he has made 16 first-team appearances and netted three cup goals before heading out on loan to Port Vale over the summer.
Born in The Gambia, Faal relocated to Birmingham at age seven. He was discovered while playing for Sutton Coldfield Town and subsequently joined West Bromwich Albion’s academy in 2019. He made his senior debut for West Brom in 2021 and has since gained experience during loan stints at Hereford, AFC Telford United, AFC Fylde, Doncaster Rovers, Walsall, and Port Vale.

Cheltenham will be without defender Sam Sherring, who faces a three-match suspension following a red card in the recent match against Notts County. Their appeal to overturn the ban was unsuccessful.
With eight games remaining this season, including five at home, Steve Cotterill’s side will be looking to build momentum. After facing Chesterfield, Cheltenham hosts Cambridge United on Easter Monday (3pm).
