Cheltenham Town are on the verge of securing Jake Bickerstaff on a permanent deal following his impactful loan stint from Wrexham, according to Gloucestershire Live.
The 24-year-old forward has made a strong impression during the first half of the 2025/26 League Two season, scoring two important goals for the Robins. His first came in a 1-1 home draw against Harrogate Town on December 13, followed by a goal in the 3-1 Boxing Day victory over Shrewsbury Town.
Bickerstaff initially joined Cheltenham on a season-long loan after impressing during a trial period, which included a goal in a 2-1 pre-season friendly triumph over Swansea City on July 23.

Throughout the campaign, he has featured in 14 League Two starts, appeared 10 times as a substitute, and played in four cup matches. His dedication, selfless running, and strong team ethic have drawn praise from Cheltenham manager Steve Cotterill, who is eager to make the forward a permanent signing beyond the summer.
A product of Wrexham’s youth academy, Liverpool-born Bickerstaff debuted for the Wrexham first team in 2019, scoring in the Scottish Challenge Cup against Ayr United. He earned his first professional contract in the summer of 2020, with an extension signed in 2023 set to run through this season.
His initial League goals for Wrexham came in August 2023 during a 4-2 home win against Walsall and a thrilling 5-5 draw with Swindon Town. During his time at Wrexham, he played alongside current Cheltenham midfielder Luke Young and former Robins Ben Tozer, Will Boyle, and Billy Waters.
With his strong performances and dedication on and off the pitch, Bickerstaff is ready to take the next step in his career as a full-time Cheltenham Town player.
