A woman in her 30s sustained a broken jaw after being punched in the face near a bus stop in Gloucester on the evening of Tuesday, 25 August.
Gloucestershire Police reported that the incident occurred at approximately 6.40pm near the bus stop on Robert Raikes Avenue. The victim had been travelling on the number 9 Stagecoach bus from Gloucester to Tuffley shortly before the assault, at around 6.30pm, during which time officers believe her phone was also damaged.
Following the attack, the woman was taken to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital by police, where she required surgery for her injury.

It is understood that the individuals involved were known to each other. A 41-year-old man from Gloucester was subsequently arrested on suspicion of assault and criminal damage. He has since been released on bail with conditions pending further enquiries.
Police reviewing CCTV footage have identified two potential witnesses who were walking past the bus stop at the time. One is described as a white woman with brown hair, wearing glasses, a blue short-sleeved top, grey cargo trousers, and black trainers. The second is a Black woman with her hair in a bun, dressed in a black dress, blue denim jacket, and black sandals, accompanied by a child around 12 years old. Footage shows this woman positioning the child between the man and the victim, appearing to look towards the injured woman.
Officers are also appealing to anyone who may have witnessed an altercation between a man and a woman on the number 9 bus to come forward.
