A serious collision occurred on a driveway in the Forest of Dean, where a woman was struck by a car, prompting a police investigation. Gloucestershire Police responded to reports at approximately 5:30 pm on Sunday, July 5, involving a silver Mercedes and a pedestrian at a property in Coalway.
The victim, a woman in her 20s from Lydney, sustained severe injuries to her head and body. She was immediately transported to Southmead Hospital in Bristol and remains in a critical condition.
The driver, a woman from the Forest of Dean operating a Mercedes CLS 320, was arrested at the scene. She faces multiple allegations including causing serious injury by dangerous driving, driving with a revoked license, and operating the vehicle under the influence of cocaine. She has since been released on bail while inquiries continue.
