Sandra Chubb, a 78-year-old woman originally from Gloucester, has been receiving a Christmas card every year from her dear friend Sylvia Provins. Despite this annual tradition, Sandra has been unable to write back for years—because she doesn’t know where Sylvia currently lives.
Sandra once lived on Forest View Road in Gloucester before relocating to Cornwall in 1996 and eventually moving to France a decade later. Though she kept in touch with Sylvia during visits back to Tuffley, she lost track of her friend’s address after Sylvia moved about five years ago.
“I still get her Christmas card every year, but she didn’t give me her new address,” Sandra explained. “I go back to England sometimes, but the last time I saw her was around 15 years ago.”

The situation weighs heavily on Sandra, who worries that her friend might think she stopped sending cards out of neglect. “It hurts me to think she might believe I’m not bothering,” she said. “Sylvia was such a lovely neighbour and friend. It would mean so much to be able to write to her or even have a chat.”
Sandra is hoping that someone who reads this will know where Sylvia is living now and can help reconnect the two friends.
