The fire erupted at Amy’s home on Attlebridge Way in Kingsway, Gloucester, prompting emergency services to respond around 5:25 pm on Wednesday, July 8. Firefighters, police officers, and paramedics from Gloucestershire Fire and Rescue Service and South Western Ambulance Service rushed to the scene.
Amy was found inside the house suffering from severe burns and was quickly transported to Southmead Hospital in Bristol. Despite the efforts of medical teams, she passed away later that same evening due to her injuries.

In a heartfelt tribute, Amy’s family said: “Our beloved daughter and sister Amy has tragically been taken from us. We do not have adequate words to express how we feel. A bright light in our lives has dimmed forever. Our hearts will always seek out the warmth and love she brought to us all. We extend our deepest gratitude to the rescue services who fought tirelessly to save our darling girl. Our love goes out to all Amy’s family and friends, near and far. Goodbye dearest Amy, sleep now. We are so proud of our independent lady.”
Police and fire investigators initially established a cordon around the property to carry out a thorough examination of the scene. After completing their investigation, they have found no evidence indicating any third-party involvement. However, inquiries are ongoing to determine the exact cause of the fire.
