Woman Killed in Gloucester House Fire Named as Family Pays Heartfelt Tribute

Amy Louise Stafford, 42, tragically lost her life following a devastating house fire in Gloucester this past week. Her family described her as “a bright light in our lives,” expressing deep sorrow over her untimely passing.

The incident occurred on the evening of Wednesday, July 8, when emergency services responded to reports of a fire at Amy’s home on Attlebridge Way in Kingsway, Gloucester. Gloucestershire Police, Gloucestershire Fire and Rescue Service, and South Western Ambulance Service arrived at the scene around 5:25 p.m. Amy was found inside the house suffering from severe burns and was promptly taken to Southmead Hospital in Bristol, where she later succumbed to her injuries.

In a heartfelt statement, Amy’s family said: “Our beloved daughter and sister Amy has tragically been taken from us. We do not have adequate words to express how we feel. A bright light in our lives has dimmed forever, our hearts will always seek out the warmth and love she brought to us all. We would like to give our thanks and appreciation to all of the rescue services who fought tirelessly to save our darling girl. Our love goes out to all Amy’s family and friends near and far. Goodbye dearest Amy, sleep now, we are so proud of our independent lady.”

Authorities established a cordon at the property to allow investigators from Gloucestershire Police and Gloucestershire Fire and Rescue Service to examine the scene. After a thorough investigation by Scenes of Crime officers and fire service specialists, officials have confirmed there is no evidence of third-party involvement. However, enquiries remain ongoing to determine the exact cause of the fire.
