Samantha Franklin, 35, has been sentenced to 50 weeks in prison after admitting to breaching a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) on five separate occasions. Franklin initially received a suspended sentence and a 10-year SHPO in December after admitting to creating hundreds of child sexual abuse images.
Just days after the order was issued, Franklin was arrested on January 13 for multiple violations. At Swindon Magistrates’ Court, she pleaded guilty to all five counts of breaching the SHPO. In addition to her prison term, she has been ordered to pay a £187 surcharge.
Detective Constable Jason Walsh, from the Child Internet Exploitation Team, expressed satisfaction with the sentencing, highlighting Franklin’s continued offending and blatant disregard for the court’s authority. “She has underestimated the severity of her actions and the importance of the order,” Walsh said. “I hope this prison sentence allows her to fully reflect on her crimes. Society cannot tolerate this behavior.”
