Woman Injured in Dog Bite Incident in Gloucester

A woman was left bleeding after being bitten by a dog while walking in Gloucester. According to the victim, a man walking his dog passed by her when the dog suddenly jumped up and bit her on the leg and hip area.

Gloucestershire Police reported that the woman sustained grazes, bruising, and a puncture wound that caused bleeding. The dog involved was described as black and roughly the size of a large Labrador.

The incident took place on Thatcham Avenue, Kingsway, at approximately 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 9.

The dog’s owner, a white man in his early to mid-50s, appeared visibly shocked by the incident. He explained that the dog was in training and apologized to the woman, but did not provide any contact information.

The man is described as having short grey hair and was wearing a black zip-up top, black combat-style trousers, and black lace-up boots.

Police are asking the owner to come forward to give a full account of the incident. They also encourage anyone who was in the area at the time and has relevant information to contact them.
