A woman remains in serious condition after a single-vehicle crash in the Forest of Dean, which occurred in the early hours of Monday, May 4. Emergency services responded around 1:15 a.m. to reports of a car that had left the A4136 near Brierley and rolled.
Both a woman and a man inside the vehicle were airlifted to Southmead Hospital in Bristol. While the man’s condition has not been disclosed, the woman continues to receive treatment for serious injuries.
The accident resulted in a prolonged closure of the A4136 between High Beech Road and New Road to allow police to conduct a thorough investigation. The road was finally reopened shortly before 7 p.m., nearly 11 hours after the collision.

Gloucestershire Police are now appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident or saw any vehicles driving unusually in the area around the time of the crash to come forward. They also encourage the public to submit any dashcam footage that might assist with their inquiries.
