Woman Dies in Gloucester House Fire; Family Remembers Her as ‘Our Darling Girl’

Amy Louise Stafford, 42, tragically passed away following a house fire at her Gloucester home on Attlebridge Way, Kingsway. Emergency services responded promptly on the evening of July 8, but despite their efforts, Amy succumbed to her injuries at Southmead Hospital in Bristol.

Gloucestershire Police, Fire and Rescue Service, and the South Western Ambulance Service arrived at the scene around 5:25 pm. Amy was found inside the house with severe burns and was quickly transported to hospital. Her family has expressed deep sorrow over the loss, describing her as “a bright light in our lives” whose warmth and love touched everyone around her.

In a heartfelt tribute, her family said: “Our beloved daughter and sister Amy has tragically been taken from us. We do not have adequate words to express how we feel. Our hearts will always seek out the warmth and love she brought to us all. We are immensely grateful to the rescue services who fought tirelessly to save our darling girl. Our love goes out to Amy’s family and friends near and far. Goodbye dearest Amy, sleep now, we are so proud of our independent lady.”

Authorities established a cordon to investigate the scene thoroughly. After detailed examinations by Scenes of Crimes officers and fire investigators, no evidence of third-party involvement has been found. The investigation into the cause of the fire continues.
