A tragic car accident in the Forest of Dean claimed the life of a woman in her 60s from Gloucester on Tuesday, December 30. Emergency services responded to a collision between a blue Ford and a black Kia on Whitehall Lane in Rudford at approximately 5:20pm.
The Ford driver sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. Her family has been informed and is receiving support from specialist officers.
A man in his 50s from Cheltenham was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and driving while impaired by drink or drugs. He remains under investigation but was released to receive treatment for multiple fractures at Gloucestershire Royal Hospital.

The B4215 was temporarily closed overnight as police conducted a collision investigation but has since reopened. Authorities are appealing to anyone who witnessed the crash or has relevant dashcam footage to come forward to aid the inquiry.
Gloucestershire Police continue their investigation and encourage the public to submit information by referencing incident 319 of December 30.
