A tragic incident on the A419 northbound carriageway near the White Hart roundabout in Swindon has resulted in the death of a woman in her 30s. The fatal collision occurred at approximately 8:30 a.m. yesterday between a van and a car that had broken down.
Emergency services responded swiftly, but sadly, the woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Wiltshire Police have confirmed that her next of kin have been informed and are receiving support from specially trained officers.
The driver of the van was not seriously injured in the crash. Following the incident, the A419 dual carriageway—connecting to junction 15 of the M4—was initially closed in both directions to allow for the investigation and clearance. The southbound carriageway has since reopened.
