Woman Dies Following House Fire in Gloucester

A woman in her 40s has died after a devastating house fire in Gloucester. The fire broke out at a residence on Attlebridge Way, Kingsway, with emergency services receiving the call at approximately 5:25 pm on Wednesday, July 8.

The woman sustained severe burns and was rushed to Southmead Hospital in Bristol for treatment. Unfortunately, she succumbed to her injuries later that evening. Gloucestershire Police have informed her next of kin.

Authorities have established a cordon around the property to allow Gloucestershire Fire and Rescue Service and Gloucestershire Police to safely investigate the incident once the structure is deemed secure.

Acting Detective Inspector Sophie Dawkins expressed her condolences, stating, “Our thoughts are with the woman’s family and all those affected by this tragic event. We also want to thank members of the public who tried to help before emergency responders arrived, as well as the emergency personnel continuing their work on scene.”

Although the death is not currently considered suspicious, investigations are ongoing to determine the cause of the fire.
