A tragic house fire in Gloucester has claimed the life of a woman in her 40s. The blaze broke out at a residence on Attlebridge Way, Kingsway, and was reported to emergency services at approximately 5:25 pm on Wednesday, July 8.

Despite swift efforts by bystanders and emergency responders, the woman sustained severe burns and was rushed to Southmead Hospital in Bristol. Unfortunately, she passed away later that same evening. Authorities have informed her next of kin.

A cordon remains in place around the scene as Gloucestershire Fire and Rescue Service, alongside Gloucestershire Police, continue their investigations. The structure will be examined once it is deemed safe.
