A tragic accident on the A44 near Chadbury has claimed the life of a woman in her 70s. The incident occurred on Monday, December 22, at approximately 7:40 a.m., when a pedestrian was struck by a white van.
Emergency services responded promptly, but the woman was pronounced dead at the scene. A 54-year-old female driver has since been arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving. She has been released under investigation as inquiries continue.
West Mercia Police are appealing for any witnesses to come forward. Sergeant Emma Breay of the Operational Policing Unit expressed condolences to the victim’s family and confirmed that specially trained officers are providing support during this difficult time.
