A woman was assaulted when a man grabbed her by the throat and verbally abused her in Cheltenham.
Gloucestershire Police reported that the incident took place near Queens Hotel on The Promenade between 4.30pm and 5pm on Friday, 21 August. Members of the public intervened to restrain the man involved.
A man in his 50s was arrested on suspicion of common assault following the incident. He has since been released on conditional bail while investigations continue.

Officers believe the attack may have been recorded by onlookers and are appealing for anyone who witnessed the event or has video footage to assist with the inquiry.
