Who Wants To Be A Millionaire Fans Buzz Over Jeremy Clarkson’s Pronunciation Slip

During the latest episode of ITV’s Who Wants To Be A Millionaire on March 1, viewers were quick to notice a humorous gaffe by host Jeremy Clarkson. Contestant Daniel Keeble was navigating the money ladder, ultimately leaving with £32,000 after exhausting his lifelines.

However, it was Clarkson’s mispronunciation during a music-related question that stole the spotlight. The question asked: “A single by which of these music acts re-entered the UK Top 40 in 2024 after appearing on the soundtrack of the film Deadpool and Wolverine?” The choices were Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Natasha Bedingfield, NSYNC, and Kate Bush.

Clarkson spelled out the boyband’s name as “N-S-Y-N-C” instead of saying “N-Sync,” a slip that did not go unnoticed. Viewers quickly took to social media to comment on the mistake, with many finding it amusing. One wrote, “Jeremy saying ‘N-S-Y-N-C’ rather than ‘N-Sync’ 😂,” while another joked, “Did Jeremy Clarkson just spell out NSYNC?”

Several fans called the incident “wild” and “hilarious,” and others humorously suggested that even NSYNC might feel “humbled” by Clarkson’s unique pronunciation.

Notably, NSYNC was the correct answer, with nearly half the studio audience selecting the band. The song featured, “Bye, Bye, Bye,” plays during the opening sequence of Deadpool, adding to the question’s relevance.

Clarkson himself acknowledged the mix-up, promising to learn the proper pronunciation from contestant Daniel before the show went to an ad break.

Who Wants To Be A Millionaire airs Sundays at 8 pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
