What Happened to Clarkson’s Farm Legend Gerald Cooper?

The eagerly awaited fifth season of Clarkson’s Farm is set to premiere on Prime Video on June 3, with fans excited to see Jeremy Clarkson back at Diddly Squat Farm. This new season will follow Clarkson, his partner Lisa Hogan, and trusted colleague Kaleb Cooper as they tackle fresh challenges on the farm. According to Prime Video, “Amidst a government budget that sends the UK farming community into uproar, Jeremy decides some big changes are needed to make the farm run more smoothly.”

The platform also teased that the farm will try to go high-tech, leading to Kaleb’s first overseas trip, but even bigger changes are on the horizon that will test everyone at Diddly Squat.

Among the show’s standout personalities is Gerald Cooper, affectionately known as “G-Dwag” by fans, who has won hearts with his warm demeanor and humorous interactions with Jeremy Clarkson. Last season, Gerald opened up about his battle with prostate cancer, candidly sharing his health struggles. Fortunately, after effective radiotherapy treatment, he announced he was cancer-free and had returned to farm duties.

Despite his recovery, false social media rumours claimed Gerald’s condition had worsened and suggested he had left the show. These reports were quickly dispelled when the official Diddly Squat Farm Shop account posted a video of Gerald happily dancing in the rain, captioned: “G-Dwag doing his thang, dancin and a laughing.” Fans rallied in support, with one commenting, “You know you’re really famous when they start making fake news about you. Good for you, Gerald.”

Lisa Hogan responded to the misinformation, acknowledging the hardship it caused Gerald and his family with a heartfelt message alongside a fuming emoji.

In February 2026, the farm family celebrated a special occasion—Gerald’s 79th birthday. Lisa shared a charming clip of the crew applauding Gerald as he blew out the candles on his cake, writing, “G-dwag is 79. HAPPY BIRTHDAY from your farm family, you legend of the ROCK.” Admirers flooded the comments, praising Gerald’s youthful spirit and kind nature. One fan wrote, “He’s twice my age but I aspire to be just half the person he is. Such a wholesome human being.” Lisa echoed the sentiment with a simple, “Same!”

At present, there has been no official announcement regarding Gerald’s role in Clarkson’s Farm season five, but fans remain hopeful he will continue to be part of the show in some capacity.
