West Bromwich Albion have recalled their young midfielder Harry Whitwell from his loan spell at Forest Green Rovers with immediate effect.
Whitwell, aged 20, played a key role in Forest Green’s campaign, featuring in 24 National League matches and scoring two important goals. He made an impressive debut by netting the final goal in a commanding 4-0 victory over Sutton United at The New Lawn in August. His second goal proved decisive in a 2-1 home comeback win against Southend United in late November.
Forest Green Rovers expressed their gratitude in a statement: “All of us at The New Lawn would like to thank Harry for his contribution this season, and we wish him nothing but the best for the rest of his career.”

The midfielder initially broke into West Brom’s first team in January 2024, debuting as a substitute during an FA Cup win against Aldershot Town. Since then, he has made one substitute appearance in the Championship and started in one EFL match.
Forest Green Rovers will next face Ebbsfleet away in the FA Trophy fourth round on Saturday at 3pm.
