We Walked 102 Miles Across the Cotswolds—Here’s What Made It All Worth It

As spring’s warmth begins to brighten the English countryside, many seek peaceful ways to connect with nature. For one couple, that meant walking an incredible 102 miles across the Cotswolds, one of England’s most picturesque regions. They have now shared their journey, calling it the “best trip” they’ve ever taken.

TikTok user @offdayadventure recounted their adventure along the Cotswolds Way: “My husband and I walked 102 miles in the English countryside… here’s what it was like.” Their trek spanned nine days, covering between seven and eighteen miles each day while traveling from one charming hotel or B&B to the next.

To make the journey more comfortable, a tour company transported their luggage, leaving them free to carry only essentials like snacks, extra socks, and band-aids. This freedom allowed them to fully embrace the stunning surroundings—from quaint villages and open fields to enchanting gardens that seemed straight out of a fairytale.

Along the way, they forged friendships with fellow walkers, even sharing moments like someone eyeing a sandwich with a playful grin. Signposts guided their route for all 102 miles, starting in Chipping Campden and concluding in the historic city of Bath.

The Cotswolds Way meanders through an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, dotted with ancient commons, Neolithic burial sites, stately homes, and notable battlefields. Yet, the highlight for the couple wasn’t just the rich history—it was the breathtaking vistas that greeted them at every turn.

“The views were epic,” she shared, posting clips of rolling green hills and idyllic landscapes. Warm hospitality awaited each night, with B&B families providing hearty breakfasts and local pubs offering perfect lunchtime stops.

Reflecting on the journey, she said, “I was there and it still doesn’t feel real. 102 miles later, we completed the Cotswolds Way. It was the hardest and most wonderful thing I’ve ever done. It’s incredible what nine days of walking can do for the soul. I can’t recommend this trip enough.”

Her story struck a chord online, inspiring many to consider their own countryside adventure. One viewer praised the British “right to roam” as a cherished part of their culture, while others shared plans to book similar journeys, regardless of their age. Some recalled their own Cotswolds experiences, testifying to the enduring appeal of England’s serene landscapes.

For anyone dreaming of an immersive walk through rolling fields, timeless villages, and beautiful nature, this couple’s journey is a shining example of the unforgettable memories waiting to be made on the Cotswolds Way.
