A man wanted by police for failing to appear in court was unexpectedly found asleep inside a car at a Tesco supermarket in Stroud. Officers from the Stroud Neighbourhood Policing Team made the discovery while stationed at the supermarket on Stratford Road, engaging with the public through their Community Engagement Vehicle.
The team was present yesterday, Friday, June 27, from 10:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., offering crime prevention advice and answering questions when they were alerted to a man asleep in a parked vehicle. Upon conducting a welfare check, officers identified the man as the wanted individual.
PC Jones, PC Wiltshire-Hunt, and a Police Community Support Officer (PCSO) promptly arrested the man on an outstanding warrant. He was taken into custody and is scheduled to appear in court.
