Vandal Damages Disabled Person’s Wheelchair in Tewkesbury Pub

A vulnerable disabled individual was left stranded after their electric wheelchair was deliberately damaged inside a pub on Barton Street in Tewkesbury. The incident, which occurred between 4:30 pm and 5:00 pm on Sunday, 25 May, resulted in a crucial bracket that holds the control panel being badly damaged, rendering the wheelchair unusable and in need of urgent repair.

Gloucestershire Police have released CCTV footage capturing a man they wish to identify in connection with the attack. The suspect is described as wearing blue jeans, black and white trainers, and a dark polo shirt featuring white stripes on the collar and sleeves.

In a statement, Gloucestershire Police urged anyone with information to come forward: “Officers are seeking assistance to identify the individual responsible for damaging a disabled person’s wheelchair inside a Tewkesbury pub. Despite ongoing inquiries, the suspect remains unidentified. We ask anyone who recognises the man pictured or has relevant details to complete the online form, referencing incident 216 of 25 May.”
