Cheltenham’s town centre is abuzz with the news of two popular clothing stores making moves within the Promenade shopping area. The Famous, previously located next to Cavendish House at 28 Promenade, is transitioning to the former Andrew Scott Designer Jewellery shop at 9 Promenade. Meanwhile, Crew Clothing Company is relocating from a flood-affected store at 96 Promenade to a new space opposite Cavendish House at 27 Promenade.
This development is part of a series of relocations in the Promenade, with the Goldsmith jewellers moving to Crescent Terrace and Rodd & Gunn taking over the former LK Bennett store. The Famous, which made a comeback in Cheltenham in 2022, has no connection to the original menswear shop that operated for 126 years.
Crew Clothing Company’s move follows a period of closure due to severe weather, similar to other affected stores like Toast and Anthropologie. Both The Famous and Crew Clothing Company, while unable to provide an exact reopening date, are expected to resume operations soon.

Notably, other shops in Cheltenham have also undergone relocations, such as HMV moving to Regent Arcade and Caffe Nero setting up a new coffee shop on the Promenade.
