Upcoming Gas Works Brings Traffic Warning for Cheltenham’s Key A-road

Prepare for upcoming major gas pipeline upgrade works along the Tewkesbury Road in Cheltenham, starting from April 30. This key project by Wales & West Utilities is crucial for ensuring a safe and constant gas supply to residences and businesses in the area. Anticipated to conclude by July, the upgrade aims to future-proof the gas network for the introduction of hydrogen and biomethane.

In collaboration with Gloucestershire County Council, the gas emergency and pipeline service has scheduled rolling lane closures along Tewkesbury Road to accommodate the works. Motorists are advised to factor in extra travel time and heed the provided signage to reduce disruptions.

Mick Gallavin from Wales & West Utilities emphasized the significance of the works, acknowledging the inconvenience while underscoring their essential nature. The goal is to maintain a secure and reliable gas supply while working towards a sustainable future. The project will be staffed with a dedicated team of gas engineers to ensure efficient and safe completion.
