Two men in their twenties were subjected to racial abuse and physically attacked by a stranger on Cheltenham High Street, close to the Sainsbury’s Local and the Moon Under Water pub.
The incident occurred around 6.20pm on Thursday, 13 August. During the assault, the victims sustained minor facial injuries but did not require medical treatment, according to police.
Officers attended the scene and identified a man nearby, who fled on foot and behaved abusively towards the police.

The suspect is described as a white male with brown hair, wearing a dark blue t-shirt and grey shorts.
A man in his forties from Cirencester was later arrested on suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm. Following an interview, he was released on police bail pending further investigation.
