Two Men Charged After Wild Boar Found Dead in Forest of Dean

Two men have been formally charged following the discovery of a dead wild boar in the Forest of Dean. The incident occurred on a forest track around 2 a.m. on Tuesday, December 31, 2024.

David Stanbury, 53, from Denstead Lane in Chartham Hatch, Kent, faces charges including hunting a wild mammal with dogs. Additionally, he is charged with three counts of possession of a bladed article and causing unnecessary suffering to a protected animal—a dog.

Thomas Bishop, 33, of Grove Close in Pontefract, West Yorkshire, has also been charged with hunting a wild mammal with dogs.

Both men are scheduled to appear at Cheltenham Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, July 29.
