James Martin, the well-known television chef and host of “James Martin’s Saturday Morning,” has announced that he will no longer appear at the Yorkshire Dales Food and Drink Festival scheduled for July 18 to 20 in Skipton. The 53-year-old was set to take to the main stage throughout Saturday but has had to cancel due to circumstances beyond his control.
Martin shared a brief statement on social media: “I’m so sorry but unfortunately, due to circumstances outside of my control, I will no longer be appearing at the Yorkshire Dales Food and Drink Festival. Please contact the organisers if you have any questions.”
Fans quickly expressed their support and understanding. One wrote, “The main thing is as long as you are ok. There will always be other food and drink festivals. Look after yourself x.” Others echoed similar sentiments, wishing him well and hoping his break was for rest rather than negative reasons.

This is not the first time Martin has publicly addressed his health issues. In November 2023, he revealed he was taking a break from work after being diagnosed with facial cancer. Having undergone surgery in 2018 and multiple treatments since, Martin shared during a show that he planned to resume activities after final treatments were completed in early 2024.
Despite the cancellation, fans can continue to enjoy his work on ITV’s “James Martin’s Saturday Morning,” airing Saturdays at 9:30 am and available on ITVX.
