Tragic House Fire near Stroud Leaves Three Missing

In the early hours of December 26, a tragic house fire broke out on Brimscombe Hill near Stroud, leaving the community in shock as three individuals remain missing. Emergency services responded promptly after receiving the call at around 3 a.m.

One occupant managed to escape the inferno and was immediately transported to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital for treatment. However, efforts to locate three others believed to have been inside the house continue amid ongoing rescue operations.

Local Green Party councillor Chloe Turner urged residents to steer clear of the area to allow emergency crews to carry out their critical work without obstruction. In a social media statement, she also encouraged anyone with information related to the incident to contact the police or emergency services.

Stroud MP Simon Opher described the event as an “awful tragedy” affecting the entire community and extended heartfelt condolences to those impacted. He assured that support would be provided to the victims and their families as authorities proceed with the investigation.

Gloucestershire Police confirmed the presence of multiple emergency services at the scene, including fire and ambulance teams. Road closures remain in place along Brimscombe Hill as the investigation into the fire’s cause continues.

Residents characterized the scene as a “major incident,” reflecting the severity and urgency surrounding the response efforts. The community remains united in concern as more information is awaited.
