Tom Kerridge Names Worst Thing He’s Ever Eaten: ‘It Was Rotten’

Celebrity chef Tom Kerridge, with over 30 years of experience in the food and hospitality industry, has opened up about the worst meal he has ever eaten. Despite his extensive culinary journey, one particular dish stands out as the absolute worst.

During an episode of the Good Food Tasted podcast, hosted by comedian Patrick Spicer, Tom was asked about the worst food he had ever tasted. Without hesitation, Kerridge recalled a burger he had at a waterpark in Portugal, describing it as “100 percent the worst thing I have ever eaten.”

He explained, “It was beyond awful. The burger was the most rotten thing I’ve ever put in my mouth. I was expecting a simple meal of burger and fries, but it was so bad, without doubt, the worst.”

Tom went on to say that although he had tried unusual and challenging foods in the past, such as century egg, fermented fish, and shark fin, none compared to that disastrous burger experience.

Aside from his culinary adventures, Kerridge has been a strong advocate for the hospitality industry, especially during challenging economic times. He has campaigned for financial relief measures, including a proposed VAT cut for hospitality businesses, which he believes could save millions and help keep local businesses afloat.

Speaking to City AM, Tom emphasized the importance of supporting small businesses, saying, “No successful business has ever been built on the accountant… Without allowing small businesses to grow, you’re never going to get to that point. It isn’t just about profits; it’s about the survival of your local pub.”

Tom Kerridge’s popular show, Tom Kerridge Cooks Italy, continues this Thursday, June 16, from 7.30pm to 8pm on ITV.
