Tom Cursons was the star of the show as he scored twice to help Boston United end a five-game winless streak in the National League, securing a 3-1 victory over Forest Green Rovers at The New Lawn.
The visitors took an immediate lead, with Cursons scoring inside the opening minute. Just two minutes later, Jayden Clarke doubled Boston’s advantage, marking his second consecutive home game with a goal. The early stages were intense, with Forest Green’s goalkeeper Louis Chadwick producing a crucial save to deny D’Mani Mellor, followed by a goal-line clearance from Jake Rooney.
Chadwick continued to impress, making another vital stop to keep out an effort from Tate Campbell after a defensive error by Nicholas Pozo. Clarke also came close to extending the lead with a powerful long-range shot that struck the crossbar.

The second half saw Mellor miss a golden opportunity when he headed over from close range. Boston punished Forest Green shortly after when Cursons was fouled by Gabriel Kircough, winning a penalty which he confidently converted in the 52nd minute.
With 15 minutes remaining, Lennon Wheeldon sealed the win by turning in a corner delivered by Georgie Gent. This goal confirmed Forest Green’s first defeat in four games, while Boston celebrated a much-needed victory.
