Tom Cursons scored twice as Boston United ended a five-match winless streak in the National League with a 3-1 victory over Forest Green Rovers at The New Lawn.
The hosts took an early lead with Cursons striking inside the opening minute, followed by Jayden Clarke’s goal two minutes later, marking his second consecutive home game with a goal. The match began at a rapid pace, with visiting goalkeeper Louis Chadwick making crucial saves to deny D’Mani Mellor, including a save that saw Jake Rooney clear the rebound off the line.
Chadwick continued to impress, thwarting Tate Campbell’s shot after an error from Nicholas Pozo. Clarke came close to extending the lead himself when a powerful long-range effort rattled the crossbar.

Early in the second half, Mellor missed a significant opportunity, heading over from close range. Boston capitalised moments later when Cursons was fouled by Gabriel Kircough, and he confidently converted the resulting penalty in the 52nd minute to restore the lead.
In the final stages, Lennon Wheeldon sealed the win by converting Georgie Gent’s corner with just 15 minutes remaining, handing Forest Green their first defeat in four matches.
