Three prominent pubs from Gloucestershire have earned prestigious nominations at the National Pub and Bar Awards 2026, highlighting their status as some of the UK’s best drinking establishments.
Celebrating its 10th anniversary, the annual awards showcase outstanding pubs and bars across the country. This year’s event culminates in a London ceremony on June 10, where 94 winners will be honoured as the finest in their counties and regions, including the coveted National Pub and Bar of the Year title.
From a shortlist of 252 Highly Commended venues nationwide, Gloucestershire’s contenders for the County title are:

- The Lion Inn, Winchcombe: A historic 15th-century coaching inn renowned for its traditional pub classics, including beer-battered fish and chips and seasonal pies.
- The Bell Inn, Langford: A quintessential Cotswolds country pub known for its authentic charm and warm atmosphere.
- Dr Foster, Gloucester Docks: A vibrant, up-and-coming pub approaching its second anniversary, celebrated for its relaxed brunch setting and welcoming vibe.
All three have secured certificates for being Highly Commended and will eagerly await the announcement of the Gloucestershire County Winner during the awards evening.
Liam, area manager at Dr Foster, expressed his enthusiasm: “Being shortlisted alongside such esteemed pubs in Gloucester and the Cotswolds is a tremendous honour. In addition to county and regional winners, the ceremony will also reveal the Industry’s Choice Award, voted by a panel of 400 industry experts, along with consumer-voted honours such as Pub Group of the Year, Bar Group of the Year, and the Tyrrells Tyrrellbly Good Taste Award.
