Three individuals have appeared at Swindon Magistrates’ Court in connection with a fatal shooting at a traveller site in Wiltshire.
Shane Porter, 35, stands accused of the murder of Jimmy Ward, 36, at Calcutt, near Cricklade, on Sunday. He also faces charges of possessing a shotgun without a certificate.
Porter appeared via video-link alongside his father, Eddie Porter, 74, and Tammy Brown, 42. Both Eddie Porter and Brown are charged with assisting an offender and possession of a shotgun without a certificate.

All three defendants, Shane Porter from Calcutt Park in Calcutt, and Eddie Porter and Brown from Luton, Bedfordshire, were remanded into custody following the hearing.
Dr Margaret Elsey, chairwoman of the bench, addressed the court: “Mr Shane Porter, you have heard there is no application for bail. You are to appear tomorrow at Bristol Crown Court at 10am.
“For Mr Eddie Porter and Ms Tammy Brown, you are remanded into custody and will also be produced at Bristol Crown Court at 10am.”
The defendants, all dressed in grey tracksuits, sat together during the hearing and provided their personal details to the court.
Representing the defendants were Michael Levy for Shane Porter, Terry McCarthy for Eddie Porter, and Adithi Shenava for Brown.
Wiltshire Police were alerted to the incident at around 8.15am on Sunday by the South Western Ambulance Service. Emergency responders attended the traveller site where Mr Ward was pronounced dead.
Prosecutor Keith Ballinger told the court, “There was an incident at the traveller site over the weekend where it is alleged Shane Porter shot and killed Mr Ward.”
Following the incident, it is alleged that Eddie Porter and Brown travelled from Luton to Swindon by car. Firearms officers intercepted the vehicle shortly after it exited the M4 motorway at the Hungerford junction on Tuesday.
A shotgun, believed to be the weapon involved in the fatal shooting, was recovered by police.
Shane Porter, Eddie Porter, and Brown are due to appear next at Bristol Crown Court on Friday morning.
