A significant theft of petrol occurred at a construction site on the M5 near Cheltenham during the late May Bank Holiday. Gloucestershire Police reported that approximately 6,000 litres of petrol were stolen from plant vehicles at the junction 10 construction site.
The incident is believed to have taken place between 5pm on Friday, 23 May, and 7am on Tuesday, 26 May. Unknown offenders broke into the secure site near Boddington and siphoned fuel from a locked compound.
Police have reviewed CCTV footage and are conducting forensic investigations to identify those responsible. They are urgently appealing to anyone who may have witnessed suspicious activity or vehicles in the area during that period to come forward.
