The Forum Bridge Marks a Milestone in Gloucester City Centre Transformation

Gloucester’s city centre is undergoing a significant transformation, with The Forum’s connecting bridge being lifted into place - a pivotal moment in the £200m Kings Quarter regeneration project. The Forum, a collaboration between Gloucester City Council, Reef Group, and the University of Gloucestershire, stands at the heart of the city with Kier Construction and Novum leading the construction efforts.

Weighing 44,000 kg and spanning 18.5m, the bridge links the 4-star Indigo Hotel, offices, and multi-storey car park on Plot 2 with the offices and gym space on Plot 4. Inspired by Gloucester Cathedral cloisters, The Forum’s facades have been installed, with the structure rapidly taking shape.

Reef Group’s Development Director, Peter Langly-Smith, expressed pride in this pivotal moment, highlighting the seamless experience the bridge offers and its role in drawing attention to the emerging Gloucester. Councillor Richard Cook, leader of Gloucester City Council, emphasized the project’s contribution to the city’s regeneration, positioning The Forum as a flagship of this multi-million-pound investment.
