Gloucester Rugby is proud to announce that local talent George Barton has committed his future to the club by signing a contract extension.
Barton, a product of the Gloucester Rugby Academy, first appeared for the senior team in 2019 against London Irish. Since his debut, the 25-year-old has made over 70 appearances for the Cherry and Whites, scoring close to 400 points.
Versatile in both the fly-half and full-back positions, Barton has consistently impressed in the Gallagher Premiership, Premiership Rugby Cup, and European competitions.

Gloucester’s head coach, George Skivington, expressed his enthusiasm: “George is highly valued by everyone at the club and our supporters, especially as a local player. His competitiveness and versatility are a huge asset. He also boasts one of the best kicking percentages in the Premiership. I truly believe the best is yet to come for him, and I’m thrilled he’s chosen to continue his journey here.”
