Forest Green Rovers have announced the signing of left-back Freddie Sass, who could make his debut for the club against Fylde in the National League tomorrow evening.
The 25-year-old defender has joined the Green Devils from League Two side Accrington Stanley, signing a two-year deal for an undisclosed fee. Sass moved to Accrington from King’s Lynn last summer and made 31 appearances last season, scoring once for the Lancashire-based club.
Club manager Robbie Savage expressed his enthusiasm about the new signing, saying, “I’m absolutely delighted to welcome Freddie to the club – he’s a terrific player who will add strength to our defence. He’s full of potential and a great guy from a good family. I’m looking forward to having him around the place.”

Sass himself shared his excitement about the move: “I’m really excited to be here, it’s a great challenge, and I can’t wait to get started.”
The defender could feature in this evening’s game as Forest Green travel to the North West.
Forest Green will be aiming to recover from last weekend’s 3-0 defeat to Boreham Wood. Currently, they hold six points from three matches, having won their opening two fixtures against Halifax and Worthing. This places them tenth in the league table, level on points with teams placed fifth to ninth.
Fylde, their opponents, are positioned 13th in the standings, having recorded a win, a draw, and a defeat so far this season.
