Forest Green Rovers have strengthened their squad with the signing of left-back Freddie Sass, who joined the club from League Two side Accrington Stanley. The 25-year-old defender penned a two-year deal with the Nailsworth-based team for an undisclosed fee.
Sass, who made 31 appearances and scored once for Accrington last season after transferring from King’s Lynn in the summer, is expected to be involved in Forest Green’s upcoming National League fixture against Fylde tomorrow evening.
Manager Robbie Savage expressed his enthusiasm about the new addition, stating, “I’m absolutely delighted to welcome Freddie to the club – he’s a terrific player who will add strength to our defence. He’s full of potential and a great guy from a good family. I’m looking forward to having him around the place.”

The defender himself shared his excitement about the move, saying, “I’m really excited to be here, it’s a great challenge, and I can’t wait to get started.”
Forest Green will be aiming for a positive response following their 3-0 defeat to Boreham Wood last weekend. Currently, they sit tenth in the National League table with six points from three games, having secured victories against Halifax and Worthing in their opening matches. Fylde, their upcoming opponents, are placed 13th after recording a win, a draw, and a defeat so far this season.
