Teenagers Flee Police Chase Near Gloucester; Drugs Discovered in Vehicle

Two teenagers were apprehended after a police chase involving a car suspected to be uninsured near Gloucester, with drugs subsequently found inside the vehicle.

On Sunday, March 8, Gloucestershire Constabulary received reports of a silver Ford Kuga being driven without insurance in Churchdown. Around 4 p.m., officers attempted to stop the car on Pirton Lane, but the driver failed to comply.

A pursuit ensued as the vehicle sped along Moselle Drive. Eventually, both the driver and the passenger abandoned the car on Andora Way and fled on foot. Police officers pursued and detained the two individuals nearby.

Following a thorough search, Police Dog Ollie and his handler uncovered a quantity of drugs inside the Ford Kuga. Authorities arrested an 18-year-old man on multiple charges, including dangerous driving, driving without a license, drug driving, failure to stop for police, and possession with intent to supply a Class B drug (Cannabis). A 19-year-old man was also arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class B drugs.

Both suspects have been released on bail. Police investigations are ongoing, and officers are appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident or has dashcam footage to come forward.

A Gloucestershire Constabulary spokesperson stated, “Enquiries are continuing. We ask anyone who saw what happened or was driving in the area with dashcam footage to contact us. Information can be submitted online, referencing incident 286 of 8 March.”
