A 17-year-old girl was sexually assaulted by a stranger on a number 22 bus in Coleford on Wednesday, June 17, at approximately 11:25 a.m. The assailant, a man in his 20s, boarded the bus and sat next to the teenage girl. When she tried to move away, the man blocked her path and inappropriately touched her without consent.
The victim quickly alerted nearby passengers, who then notified the bus driver. The driver stopped the bus, and with the assistance of other passengers, the man was removed from the vehicle.
Gloucestershire Police arrested the suspect later that day. He has since been charged and remanded in custody ahead of a hearing scheduled for Thursday, July 16, at Gloucester Crown Court.
