A 16-year-old boy from Wolverhampton has been banned from entering Gloucester after being charged with common assault for attacking a 76-year-old man. The incident took place on Tuesday, June 17, amid a recent surge in reports of anti-social behaviour in the city.
The teenager, whose identity is protected for legal reasons, was arrested and later released on bail. As part of his bail conditions, he is prohibited from returning to Gloucester. He is scheduled to appear at Cheltenham Magistrates' Court on Friday, July 4.
In response to increasing disturbances, Gloucestershire Police implemented a dispersal order across Gloucester city centre starting Tuesday. The order, which remains in effect until 8 pm on Thursday, June 19, empowers officers to direct individuals causing harassment, alarm, or distress to leave the area immediately. Failure to comply can result in arrest.
