Following the arrest, the Liberal Democrat party has suspended Mr. Thomas and removed the party whip pending the outcome of a police investigation. Gloucestershire Police confirmed that on June 17, a man in his 40s from Tewkesbury was arrested on suspicion of controlling and coercive behaviour and assault. The individual was interviewed by officers and subsequently released on police bail while inquiries continue.
