Strictly Star Kelvin Fletcher’s Witty Response to Jeremy Clarkson Teeth Joke

Kelvin Fletcher, 41, best known for his roles on Emmerdale and Strictly Come Dancing, has embraced his new life as a farmer alongside his wife Liz. Since acquiring a 120-acre farm in Wincle, Cheshire in 2021, the couple have been sharing their rural journey on their ITV show, Fletchers’ Family Farm.

Their farming story often invites comparisons to broadcaster Jeremy Clarkson, 65, who stars in the popular Amazon Prime series Clarkson’s Farm after taking over Diddly Squat Farm in the Cotswolds. During a recent appearance on the Motorhome Matt podcast, host Matt Sims joked that Kelvin was the “good looking Clarkson in the farming world.”

Kelvin responded with good humor: “I think Clarkson is pretty good looking anyway, so… I’m the shorter version of him really, with a lot less ground and probably a little bit less abrasive.”

The host then made a playful comment about teeth, saying, “And better teeth,” to which Kelvin replied awkwardly but with a smile, “Oh, I don’t know… yeah, yeah, yeah.”

Kelvin had earlier addressed the similarities between his farming series and Clarkson’s during a chat on ITV’s This Morning. He praised Clarkson’s show as “fantastic” and described the wave of farming-related programmes as informative television offering escapism. “They’re all unique in their own way,” he said, noting Clarkson’s show features a huge commercial enterprise with plenty of humor, while his own focuses on a small family farm and the lifestyle it offers.

Reflecting on his bold decision to leave behind a non-farming life for the countryside, Kelvin acknowledged it was a leap of faith. “We haven’t come from farming backgrounds. We literally decided to uproot and move out to the middle of nowhere and start living off the land. As crazy as it sounds, that’s exactly what we’ve done,” he explained.

Kelvin’s authentic insight into family farm life has resonated with viewers looking for an honest and heartfelt countryside experience.

Fletchers’ Country Workshop airs Sundays at 4pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
