Stratford Park Lido, a beloved outdoor swimming pool in Stroud, will continue to welcome swimmers until Wednesday, 30 September, weather permitting. This extension allows residents and visitors to enjoy the lido’s facilities well into the autumn months.
The open-air pool recently reopened in August following extensive repairs addressing critical safety concerns at the nearly 90-year-old facility. Initially scheduled to remain open only for the remainder of the 2026 summer season, the season has now been extended thanks to positive community response.
In addition to the main pool, the baby pool remains available, alongside a newly opened on-site café and shop operating during public swimming sessions.

The updated opening hours are as follows:
- Monday, Wednesday and Friday
- Tuesday and Thursday
- Saturday
- Sunday
Swimmers are encouraged to book their sessions in advance, although walk-in spaces will be available each day.
Councillor Angela Gillingham, Head of Community Services at Stroud District Council, expressed enthusiasm about the extended season: “We’re delighted that the Lido will remain open until the end of September, giving residents and visitors extra opportunities to enjoy this much-loved community facility. Since reopening, it has been wonderful to see people back in the water and making the most of everything the Lido has to offer. We look forward to welcoming swimmers throughout the extended season, weather permitting.”
Earlier this year, the lido was deemed unsafe to open, prompting public concern and a council allocation of £476,000 for urgent maintenance. Following the successful campaign and essential repair work, Stratford Park Lido reopened to the public and continues to provide a valued recreational space for the community.
